| Built in 1937 on historical Route 66, the hotel-now protected by preservationists- rented rooms to more than 3,000 movie stars in the 1930s and 1940s while they were in town making movies. Today, Navajo art, celebrity photos, an expansive staircase and gigantic stone fireplace fill the rustic hotel's two- story lobby. Guests dine in the hotel's classic "Old West" 49er Lounge and bask local and regional dishes and Mexican cuisine in the hotel's on-site restaurant.
